When the sun turns grey

2021 - ongoing

Winters in the Scandinavian countries are dark and gloomy. Days are short, the sun struggles to pierce through the dense cloud cover, and the city adopts an aura of melancholy. People are more tired and moody, a lot of them feel the symptoms of winter depression, like a settling fog over their mind.

“When the sun turns grey” seeks to capture the mental state of long winters through my experience and impression, and showing that even when the prevailing darkness cloaks the land there is a subtle, yet profound beauty, a resilience that emerges amidst the gloom.

I feel, I’m locked in between the sunset and sunrise.

There is constant fog in my brain.

Frosty needles in my nose.
